It has been narrated on the authority of Ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allaah (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) allowed two shares from the spoils to the horseman and one share to the footman.

The same tradition has been narrated on the authority of Ubaidullah by a different chain of transmitters who do not mention the words:" from the booty".
